I’ve never fully understood the appeal of being cast in a reality television series. I know many people who have used the notoriety that comes with it as a springboard to start their own business or further their philanthropic endeavors – but I’ve always imagined it must put an incredible strain on one’s personal relationships.
Unfortunately, it seems another couple has buckled under the pressures of stardom as actress Brittany Snow and her husband, Selling The OC’s Tyler Stanaland, revealed they have mutually decided to separate yesterday evening.
While we can’t confirm whether or not the reality show had anything to do with their split, the pair both shared joint statements across their Instagram accounts on Wednesday, amicably announcing the news together.

According to the joint statement, which both Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland shared on Instagram yesterday, the couple needed to end their relationship to ensure they are both “living our most fulfilling and authentic lives.”
”After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another,” Brittany wrote within her caption. “We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.
Tyler shared a nearly identical post within his feed, with the same photo Brittany shared.
According to People Magazine, Brittany and Tyler were engaged in 2019 and married in Malibu in March the following year; a source revealed to the magazine that Tyler’s regular appearance as a castmember on Selling The OC – a spinoff of Selling Sunset – may have contributed to their split.
Neither the couple nor their reps have commented on whether or not the reality show was a deciding factor in their split.
