Yasmina Zaytoun Has Been Crowned Miss Lebanon 2022

The 20-year-old journalism student was crowned with the title of Miss Lebanon 2022 yesterday evening…

Yasmina Zaytoun, a 20-year-old journalism student and model, was declared Miss Lebanon 2022 on Sunday night.

Yasmina placed first in the esteemed ceremony that took place in Beirut’s Forum de Beyrouth after three years — hosting seventeen contestants who competed for a grand prize of $100,000 and a chance to represent the country in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.

The newly crowned Miss was a vision in a magenta Georges Hobeika gown as she received her crown from Maya Reidy, the previous Miss Lebanon 2018.

Zaytoun’s hair and make-up were done by Wassim Markos and Bassam Fattouh, according to Arab News.

Hailing from Kfarchouba, Yasmina is the first to win the modified title of “We Miss Lebanon 2022” — an homage to the way Lebanon has risen up from crises since the past three years. The star-studded event was hosted by TV host Aimee Sayah and featured a performance from Lebanese singing sensation Nancy Ajram, who performed her hit collaboration with Marshmello “Sah Sah” among other touching tributes, the newspaper reports

“Tonight, we’re celebrating Lebanon, not just Miss Lebanon,” said Nayla Tueni, CEO of Annahar Newscorp and one of the judges.

Who is Yasmina Zaytoun?

Although little is known publicly at the moment about the newly crowned winner, Zaytoun is a third-year journalism student at Notre Dame University-Louaize. She is 20 years old and is from Kfarchouba, Lebanon, according to Miss Lebanon Official.

She also hosts an educational show called “With Yasmina Show” since last April, and beat out Maya Abou El-Hassan, Jacintha Rashed, Lara Hraoui and Dalal Hoballah for the coveted title, as reported by Arab News.
