Innovative design concepts come alive with Casa Milano’s premium offerings through the Talking Walls challenge
Eight teams, eight themes and 12sqm of bathroom space for each to transform. The Talking Walls design challenge hosted by Casa Milano in partnership with Intelier and Love That Design, was the nucleus of the luxury home solutions provider’s booth at Downtown Design 2024.
Top interior firms from the region participated via teams consisting their junior designers, and each one pushed the boundaries of ingenuity and innovation.

Hosted at the Dubai Design District from 5-10 November 2024 – the event saw Casa Milano’s largest booth yet, which stood at a striking 400sqm.
After working on their theme for four weeks, the teams displayed custom creations within the booth for visitors and judges to view. “Each team was tasked with designing around a specific theme, and I was truly inspired by the results,” says Azhar Sajan, Director and Founder of Casa Milano.
“We had Roar who worked with the urban theme, 4SPACE Design brought a playful approach with quirky, DZ Design crafted a whimsical concept, while XBD Collective explored Art Deco. Broadway Interiors presented power, Swiss Bureau Interior Design showcased their ‘aquatonic’ vision, Known embraced kitsch and AKDesigno took on a refined minimalist theme.”

The concepts came to life through a curated selection of premium materials and resources from the Casa Milano brand portfolio.

While the Best Presentation award went to XBD Collective whose art deco interpretation had elegant finishes – Swiss Bureau emerged as the Talking Walls design challenge winner for their ‘aquatonic’ concept, which generated a tranquil aura inspired by water. “My vision for Talking Walls is to create an evolving platform where emerging and established designers can collaborate, share ideas, and redefine interiors together,” shares Azhar.

Casa Milano continues to demonstrate its commitment to creative expression. Azhar affirms, “My vision for Casa Milano has always gone beyond simply offering high-end products; it’s about creating spaces that inspire and elevate daily living. Looking ahead, my goal is for Casa Milano to continue expanding its role as a trendsetter in the industry, with a focus on eco-friendly practices and innovative design concepts.”
