Carpets CC by Cecilia Setterdahl Unveils A New Collection Inspired By Family

The new range includes three unique designs, each one named after a very special person in the designer’s life…

There’s something special about being inspired by family. Those who are near and dearest to us often bring out our best (and, sometimes, the worst) qualities — and talent is certainly no exception.

Unfortunately, throughout the past year, many of us haven’t been able to be close to our loved ones, only connecting with our family via video or phone calls. Miraculously,   Swedish artist Cecilia Setterdahl was still able to draw on that special bond, in order to create something beautiful while spending more time than every before away from her loved ones.

Her Dubai-based brand Carpets CC by Cecilia Setterdahl launched a brand new line called “The Uncle Collection” comprised of three unique, limited edition  rugs all available in hand-tufted 100% New Zealand wool.

The three new additions are inspired by and named after Cofounder Cecilia’s uncles: Uncle Theodore, Uncle Fred and Uncle Richie each having their own themes based on her real uncles: goofy, fun and easy-going (Uncle Theodore); serious, yet wise with a gentle spirit (Uncle Fred); and affluent and unselfish with a heart of gold (Uncle Richie).

Her inspiration came during the current global pandemic as Cecilia was separated from her extended family, which led to her experiment with flowing lines, not realising she was subconsciously illustrating her dearest uncle that led to the creation of this wonderful collection. The three new carpet designs come in a range of neutral and earth tones, which would complement anyone’s interiors.
