COS And Snarkitecture Team Up For Seoul Installation
New York-based art-architecture studio creates a playful exhibition that draws on the fashion brand’s latest collection boasting its signature Scandinavian aesthetic
Snarkitecture joins forces with fashion brand COS to create an immersive installation that will be open for public viewing in Seoul’s Gana Art Centre this November. The installation features thousands of glass marbles that will swirl around the gallery space to create a unique sensorial experience. “We are delighted to bring this installation to Seoul – a vibrant and dynamic city that resonates strongly with our brand,” COS Creative Director Karin Gustafsson said in a statement.
The New York-based art and architecture studio Snarkitecture, founded by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen, is known for using everyday materials to create a fresh and an imaginative effect. “We’re very excited to continue our series of collaborations with COS for Snarkitecture’s first project in Seoul,” said Ashram and Mustonen.

Fun and interactive, the exhibition takes a cue from COS’s new collection that retains its pared-down, timeless Scandinavian aesthetic. “The installation merges the technical sensibility of the latest COS collection with Snarkitecture’s approach to create a playful and interactive environment,” the duo added.
This is COS’s third collaboration with Snarkitecture, who previously created an installation and temporary concept store for the brand in Milan in 2015, and a pink and copper toned pop-up store in Los Angeles last year – both were inspired by prior COS collections. “We are thrilled to be working with Daniel and Alex for a third time and excited to see the installation come to life. Their experimental style and ability to engage with people through interesting uses of materials really strikes a chord with us,” added Gustafsson.
COS designs draw heavily on art and architecture and these influences are evident in its clean cuts and sleek designs. Among its recent collaborations was one with London-based Studio Swine for the ‘New Spring’ immersive installation part of this year’s Salone Del Mobile in Milan.
The COS x Snarkitecture installation will be on view from 8-19 November at Gana Art Centre, 98 Pyeongchang-dong, longno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Cosstores.com
