Design Miami/ Celebrates Its 12th Edition With a Sense of Nostalgia

Nine founding galleries and five first time galleries come together to reconsider the use of natural and unusual materials within the realm of innovation and design

As part of the 2016 edition of Design Miami/, the global forum for design and innovation aims to bring together nine founding galleries and five first time galleries in the pursuit of celebrating sustainability through the use of unusual materials.

Evoking a sense of nostalgia in the 12th year since its conception, Design Miami/ presents attendees with the opportunity to engage with themes of nostalgia and homage whilst employing the distinct characteristics of natural elements like wood, stone and lava.

Inspired by the heritage and personal backgrounds of each artist, the retrospective elements of this year’s forum is further exemplified through select historic public and private commissions returning to the fair. Complemented by a number of noteworthy solo shows and debuts, Design Miami/ inspires the celebration of the discarded and the emancipation of the ordinary.
