Great Arab Minds, an unprecedented initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – took place on January 8, 2024 at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.
The groundbreaking initiative seeks to reward intellectuals, visionaries, and artists for their exceptional achievements and contributions to Arab civilisation – be it in science, medicine, literature, art, economics, or construction. Six extraordinary winners received the prestigious Great Arab Minds Award at the end of the illustrious ceremony.
A Closer Look At The Official Great Arab Minds Trophy, Designed By Yasmin Al Mulla
Distinguished Emirati Designer Yasmin Al Mulla was entrusted to design the official trophy for the Great Arab Minds initiative. Resilient and innovative, the prestigious GAM trophy was meticulously crafted with a metal base – symbolising the solid values, unwavering spirit, and unbreakable strength of the Emirati Nation at large. The masterpiece additionally features inscriptions in Ugaritic script – that is, the very first alphabet in history, which was discovered at Ras Shamra in Syria.
“I have designed the official trophy for the @greatarabminds initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the most prestigious award in the Arab world; which is considered the Arab equivalent of the Nobel Prize,” writes Yasmin Al Mulla in a sentimental Instagram photo, where HH Sheikh Mohammed can be seen holding the trophy.
Yasmin Al Mulla is well-versed in the art of designing awards, having also crafted the esteemed ELMA Award for the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Symbolic to their core, each of her meticulously crafted designs is a testament to the formidable essence of Emirati heritage and culture.
