A testament to coastal bliss and Miro Architects’ creative ingenuity, a newly designed beach house in Egypt captures the carefree essence of summer living.
Salt-tinged scents of the sea and warm sand reign supreme along Al Sahel, the northern coast of Egypt. A stone’s throw away from the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the double storeyed El Sueno beach house, designed by Cairo-based architectural and interior design firm Miro Architects, boasts a garden perched almost directly on the shore. The compound features a curvaceously formed swimming pool and ample lush lawn, offering a seamless and serene aquatic experience. In the corner, a fan-shaped pergola looms above plush outdoor banquette seating while a private pathway leads directly to the beach. With views across all outdoor areas, the patio is the perfect choice for a spot of relaxation.
El Sueno’s modern structure is made up of clean lines, and Miro Architects’ choice of enlarged, black-framed windows invites picturesque views into the home. At the heart of this seaside abode, open and spacious rooms beat, with lavishly textured finishes and vibrant colour palettes – a playful contrast to the demure exterior.
A mint front door hints at the spectrum of hues found within and, upon entry, the aqua views beyond the garden readily sing. Blush-toned walls and tangerine accented chairs in the entryway lead to a soft-edged, rectangular arch into the living and dining area. The sparkling star feature here is a double-height ceiling section with a chandelier dropping from the first floor. Keeping true to mid-century modern simplicity, the furniture sports rich woods and honest, ultra-comfortable fabrics that pop against red accents.
Upon climbing multi-toned stairs with clear glass balustrades, red brick extends warm greetings and jungle escape wallpaper enrobes the ceiling. Bedrooms with sandy tints, wooden panelling and headboards alongside snug materiality deliver an organic aura, accompanied by the waves’ lullabies. The terrace supplies one more vantage point for the vistas to shine and features a futuristic mint-hued semi-circular canopy.
