How Casa Milano Continues to Redefine Luxury Home Living

Reimagining intimate spaces within residential and commercial properties, the luxe home décor company recently hosted a special design competition for emerging designers in the UAE

Transforming bathrooms into sophisticated, functional, and inviting spaces that elevate the most intimate space of a property, is nothing less than an art. At the Downtown Design Week that took place in November, it was evident that visitors were intrigued by the design novelty, as they witnessed the Casa Milano booth displaying the latest luxury bathroom fixtures and fittings, all uniquely presented.

“We created a miniature version of our showroom at the booth, complete with a café, a perfume bar and a small makeup bar,” shares Azhar Sajan, Director of Casa Milano.

Collaborating with Intelier and Love That Design, Casa Milano launched a special design competition titled Talking Walls: Reimagining the Bathroom Experience for emerging designers in the UAE, with the results showcased garnering much attention from visitors at the exhibition.

The competition, conceived by Azhar, elicited a stunning response from interior design studios in the UAE as they presented concepts inspired by one of six words: Timeless, Cosy, Harmonious, Bold, Grounded, and Vibrant. Suited for commercial, residential, and premium hotel spaces, six design concepts were presented at Casa Milano’s booth, giving guests a chance to perceive and experience the designs alongside the latest innovative bathroom fixtures and fittings from leading sanitaryware brands including the likes of Devon & Devon, Maison Valentina, Ideal Standard, Vado, and the House of Rohl.

“Our partnerships redefine modern bathroom enhancements, and Casa Milano’s expansion over the past four years encompasses vibrant colours, groundbreaking flushing and cistern technology, all showcased at Dubai Design Week, reflecting our dedication to innovation. Looking ahead, Casa Milano envisions further exploration into home improvement divisions in the coming years,” explains Azhar, who spearheaded the multi-sport ‘Design Duels’ tournament to attract the attention of the design community in the region, spanning interior design, architecture, and the broader home-solution industry.

“The tournament drew participation from over 1,200 individuals across 78 companies, and was a testament to our ability to organise grand, impactful events that resonate on a significant scale. Our team reached out to the entire community including designers, architects, consultants, contractors and also our competitors to participate in the tournament,” he says.

In four years, Casa Milano has established five showrooms, with the latest showroom slated to open in January 2024, making it the first destination outside of the UAE.

“Our remarkable success is attributed to our exceptional culture and client-focused approach,” shares Azhar, and judging by the response of visitors to the Casa Milano booth at the Downtown Dubai exhibition, the emerging designers that participated in the competition, and the excitement from the community for the Design Duel tournaments – the new opening is sure to mark a promising new year for the brand.
