Cheval Maison The Palm Dubai: A Family Friendly Hideaway | Review
The ideal spot for visiting family members looking to extend their stay in town this summer…
One of the nicest things about living in Dubai is that there’s never a shortage of people who want to visit you. It can also be one of the most annoying things – when friends and family fill you spare rooms and bathrooms for a little longer than you’d signed up for.
Worry no more, as there’s a new, luxury-feel apartment option to check them into next time they visit, and it won’t break the bank either. Cheval Maison The Palm is the latest iteration from luxury property portfolio brand Cheval Collection, and its first offering outside of London and Edinburgh – where it hosts 11 hotel and apartment complexes.

This latest addition sits on Golden Mile 3 of The Palm, nestled right next to Nakheel Mall and opposite Fairmont The Palm hotel. The 131 contemporary apartment suites have been in a soft launch period since the end of April and are offering stunning suites from as little as Dhs555 on some booking sites…yes, you read that right! A whole suite: large bedroom, huge living area, luxe kitchen, utility room with washing machine, study, two bathrooms and a balcony for the price of a nice brunch. Of course, the prices are likely to go up a little come peak season but word is that they will still be very competitive compared with similar stay options.
Cheval Maison The Palm offers one, two and three-bedroom suites plus a three-bed penthouse suite, all rooms are decorated in a fresh, minimal but contemporary style with modern furnishings throughout the airy and spacious spaces. Fall into a slumber on the super comfortable king-size beds, and enjoy relaxed living surrounded with stylish lamps and rugs, and tables adorned with carefully curated fashion, homes and travel books, and huge flat screen TVs in both the living area and bedroom – which unfortunately don’t carry any English channels at the moment but that’s being upgraded to include way more international options post soft launch.

The feel is very ‘home away from home’ (a very nice home), and the apartments are designed for everyone, from those who want to stay a day or two to more long stay dwellers, the fully kitted out kitchen comes with an oven, microwave, dishwasher and all the necessary utensils and crockery and the washing machine and dryer make life even easier for those staying for a lengthier time. The top floor of the building is home to the penthouse, a 24-hour gym kitted out with the latest Life Fitness equipment and the large pool is great for lengths or gentle dips between sunbathing on the rows of loungers that offer views across The Palm.
If you’re looking for even better views from your pool then Aura — the worlds highest 360 degree infinity pool, and somewhat of an Instagram influencer’s dream, is less that a five-minute walk away through the adjacent Nakheel Mall. The pool and loungers are mostly in the shade, which works well for hot summer days, and there’s an indoor lounger area too. Prices start at Dhs200 per person for outdoor loungers and sofas and Dhs150aed for the indoor lounge. It’s probably not the best place to get a tan but it’s all about the views, and a 360 swim means you can take in every famous Dubai landmark including both Atlantis hotels, the Ain wheel, the Marina and also Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab.

On the hunt for something even fancier for the ‘gram? Perhaps a pool that is a total sun trap? then Cheval Maison The Palm is a five-minute taxi ride or five minute metro ride from the mall to the brand new Atlantis The Royal – Cheval Maison even pays homage to the famous Beyoncé concert in it’s ground floor timeline of The Palm’s construction. You might not be staying at Atlantis The Royal but that doesn’t mean visiting friends can’t get a bit of the action by booking the perfect pool day at the resort’s Nobu by the Beach – you actually have to walk past the famous Beyoncé concert fountain scene to get to Nobu.
Prices for sun loungers start at Dhs250 per person, this gives you access to one of the finest (and biggest) pools in the UAE, attentive staff, a free supply of cold water and of course a menu of world class food. Choose from the Peruvian meets Japanese blend of cuisine, highlights include Salmon New Style Tacos, Chicken Sliders, Black Cod Butter Lettuce, Rock Shrimp Tempura with three sauces and Spicy Tuna Cut Rolls. And once at Atlantis The Royal, take a wander around the whole resort and see in person all the sights you’ve become familiar with from TiKTok and Instagram.

Atlantis the Royal also has a number of dinner options but if you want to go somewhere that’s walking distance from Cheval Maison The Palm, then cut through Nakheel Mall to Sushi Samba – the highest restaurant on The Palm (230 meters above sea level) with panoramic views of The Palm, the Marina and Downtown depending on where you are seated. A huge 3D printed ceiling installation paying homage to traditional Japanese and Brazilian weaving techniques takes centre stage above the huge theatre style open kitchen with Robata grill and sushi counter. The list of dishes you must try is a long one but a few recommendations include the Lobster Crispy Taquitos and Salmon Ceviche with ahi Amarillo, passion fruit and crispy salmon skin for starters, followed by Australian Angus Tenderloin or Black Cod for mains and don’t miss out on the Chocolate Banana Cake with maple buttered vanilla rum ice cream for dessert.

Cheval Maison The Palm’s own in-house restaurant, The Lighthouse is on the ground floor near the front desk, it’s closed during the soft launch but will be fully open come July and provide snacks and meals throughout the day but will also cater for guests using the rooftop pool. The whole of Cheval Maison The Palm will be fully up and running by mid-summer so get your family and friends to book ASAP, because there’s a good chance rooms won’t stay empty for long.
Nightly rates from Dhs850 for a one-bedroom apartment, from Dhs1,300 for a two-bedroom apartment and from Dhs1,750 for a three-bedroom apartment. For more information, visit chevalcollection.com.
