LIFESTYLE & ASPIRATIONS

Biggest highlight? Definitely my first ever official performance at the Al Quoz Arts Festival, because it gave me an exciting taste of the world of singing and performing.

How did you feel on stage? I was completely overwhelmed with nerves, however when I got up there I just started singing like nobody was watching. It felt like the most natural thing in the world.

At what age did you start writing songs? Around aged 9.

How did you release your first song, Cold? I released my song during the summer of 2018. Iranian singer, Layla Kardan, a dear friend of my family mentored me and guided me through the stages of putting a song out. She introduced me to a very talented producer who goes by the name, Ay The Producer, who worked hard to make sure the song sounded how I had envisioned it.

How did you feel the first time you heard Cold on the radio? I was initially so shocked that I didn’t know what to do with myself, because a song that I had written alone in my bedroom had reached thousands of people across the country.

What inspires your lyrics? I typically get inspiration by the people around me, movies, T.V shows, and even other singer/songwriters. I like to imagine putting myself in other people’s shoes as it helps me grasp what they are going through, whatever it may be, and I love to express that through music.

What’s next? I’ve just recorded another single which I’m hoping to release in the near future, and possibly after that, an E.P.

Advice for aspiring musicians? Do not be afraid of what other people think. Write and sing what you want to sing, not for the approval of others.

Values you admire in yourself? I would probably say the fact that I am so dedicated when it comes to singing. I’ll come home after school and sing in my room for hours just because I love it so much.

Favourite thing to do on the weekend? Sleepovers with my closest friends or going out for nice dinners.
