Exclusive: Deborah Lyons Minis Has Landed And It’s Utterly Adorable

Born and bred London designer Deborah Lyons launched her eponymous label this year, bringing with it a collection for your little ones. Her Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, Made in London, was influenced by the brilliant and inspirational women Deborah has met along her journey into the fashion world. We caught up with the designer to find out all about her debut collection.

Harper’s Bazaar Arabia: What is the inspiration behind your latest collection?
Deborah Lyons: Girly staples that easily transition from day to evening. It’s full of metallic body suits, playful high-waist trousers with velvet ankle ties, pleated paneling, and a lots of texture.

HBA: Why did you decide to create a Deborah Lyons Minis?
DL: My business partners’ 2-year old daughter Aya inspired the range. She’s adorable and a real little wise grown up in tiny form.

HBA: What are the most important things to consider when designing a line of kids clothing?
DL: Particularly and durability, but ours are also about fun and excess!

HBA: If you could have any celebrity mother-daughter duo wear your clothes, who would it be?
DL: We would love to dress Princess Charlotte and The Duchess of Cambridge.

HBA: Favourite Dubai designer?
DL: Amato for the decadence and drama.

HBA: Any exciting plans for the future of the brand?
DL: For the immediate future we are working on the spring collection which features bell sleeves, layering, tone-on-tone contrasting, customisable elements, and high-octane shine all with an underlying 90’s throwback vibe. We are also growing our Minis category, too. We also hope to do some exciting collaborations in the future!
