Mercedes-Benz X Moncler Mondo G: Is This The First Car That Can Drive On The Moon?

The future is here… or is it?

As technological advances continue to surprise us, we have seen some out-of-the-ordinary releases and integrations into every day life, but one recent launch has left all of us speechless: the Mercedes-Benz X Moncler collaboration.

This art piece was initially revealed earlier this year at the Moncler Art of Genius show during London Fashion Week, a new variation of the classic G-Class.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the car draws inspiration from zero gravity and the re-imagined G-Class has “…entered a new dimension where earthly rules are distorted… a new reality is imagined through art and technology.”

Looking very much like a classic model wrapped in a stylish winter jacket, the car has many intricate details that contribute to its unusual design. Keeping in style with Moncler’s iconic motifs, the launch has a quilted roof and over-sized wheels. In addition, the art piece’s
“roof” has a giant zipper with a statement logo.

Mercedes-Benz X Moncler Mondo G: Is This The First Car That Can Drive On The Moon?

Although the car has been designed with zero gravity in mind, there has been no evidence to suggest whether it could actually be used in these conditions — and neither brand has claimed it can.

The elements of the car seem to conceptually enable these rumours (especially due to the size dimensions, but neither manufacturer nor luxury brand have confirmed or denied its ability to do so. Whether or not it could actually be driven on the moon by an astronaut in a space suit — if we could, somehow, get it there — is anyone’s guess.
