#StyledByCed: Celebrity Stylist Cedric Haddad On Styling Miss Lebanon 2015 Valerie Abou Chacra
Stylist to the stars Cedric Haddad shines a spotlight on the top red carpet looks, hot trends and fashion moments of the month
Anatomy Of A Look
A look fit for a queen… a beauty queen, that is. I had the privilege to style the actress, and Miss Lebanon 2015, Valerie Abou Chacra when she hosted a memorable night in honour of the legendary musician Talal Maddah in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For the televised event, I wanted to highlight Valerie’s timeless beauty with a gown that was modern, elegant and had a couture finish. This is something that the Greek designer Mary Katrantzou is an expert at, and her golden sunray Helios dress from her resort 2023 collection is both showstopping and refined. No queen’s outfit is ever complete, however, without a sprinkling of diamonds, and for Valerie I turned to the Yessayan jewellery house for a 49-carat necklace crafted from fancy yellow oval and radiant-cut diamonds. With all that sparkle I made sure to keep the glam and hair significantly more understated. This look was all about creating a backdrop so that Valerie could shine.

Spring Fling
Now that spring has finally sprung, here are the key trends I know you’ll want to weave into your existing wardrobe…
1. Show Your Metal
Metallic bags are back on the top runways this season, but this time in a more elevated, minimalistic way. But because of their alloy inspiration, even without any embellishments, they give any look an edgy accent. They are a statement all on their own, which means that they are a particularly great option for an understated daytime ensemble.

2. Denim Dream
Yves Saint Laurent once lamented that he wished he had invented blue jeans, and I understand why. Today denim is getting the best of both worlds when it comes to fashion. The material is a tried and true basic, but it has also become the foundation for some amazing cutting-edge outfits. Designers are taking this staple garment to fashionable new heights.

3. En Pointe
For racing between fashion shows on cobblestone streets in Europe or walking the miles–long corridors in the myriad of malls in the GCC, ballerina flats are the smartest low-impact slip-on. And now with Alaïa, Maison Margiela and Miu Miu featuring them in their S/S 23 collections, they are the chicest option too
