Kuwait’s National Day commemorates the occasion on which Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah became the ruler of Kuwait in 1950. During his reign, he signed a treaty that secured the country’s independence from Britain, putting an end to its status as a British protectorate.
February 25 (Kuwait’s National Day) and 26 (Liberation Day of Kuwait) mark this special occasion, as nationals and residents don their best patriotic attire, flying flags high to mark the occasion and share their love for their country.
In honour of this special day, Bazaar Arabia shares a list of Kuwaiti social media creators who have joined in on the celebrations, letting their following know just how proud they are to be from Kuwait.
Dalal AlDoub
One of the most recognisable faces in the Kuwaiti influencer space, Dalal AlDoub shared a look inspired by Kuwait in the 1980s. Sporting an iconic outfit from the era – a blazer with shoulder pads – Dalal highlighted the country’s achievements in art and culture throughout the decade.

Noha Nabil
One of Kuwait’s most prominent fashion influencers, Noha Nabil shared a video visiting historic landmarks in celebration of the occasion.
Khattafya
Hesa AlKhataf, who’s popularly known as “Khattafya” online, dabbles in fashion, food as well as gaming. She took the occasion to share a bejewelled eye look in the colours of the Kuwaiti flag with her followers.
Sarah Alnaser
Sarah Alnaser posed in front of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre decorated with fluttering flags for the occasion.

Farah Alhady
Famous Kuwaiti social media couple, Farah Alhady and Aqeel Alraisi took to Instagram to celebrate as a family. Also sharing a video from the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with their child, the trio was seen proudly waving the country’s flag.
