Indian content creator Niharika Nm is best known for her super-engaging videos and collaborations, making her one of the most popular influencers out there. With over 3.2 million followers on Instagram, the social media sensation frequently shares her day-to-day events and, of course, her on-point ensembles that make her truly a fashion trendsetter.
The content creator has worked with several Bollywood A-listers like Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and others, while even hosting her own talkshow. With all of this success, Bazaar Arabia’s Anahita Ghai speaks to Niharika about her success story, working with the elite of Bollywood, and what the future entails…

Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): Who is your biggest style inspiration/ icon?
Niharika Nm (NN): For the longest time, my icon has been Rihanna. But for the past couple of years, it’s actually moved to Zendaya. I think she’s so incredible in so many ways, be it her fashion, her career trajectory, her talent. She’s so talented!
HBA: How was your Cannes 2023 experience?
NN: My Cannes 2023 experience was incredible. It was surreal. It was one of the highlights of my entire year. I had an incredible time being involved in the magic of cinema and also a little bit of fashion, absolutely floored by everything that Cannes has to offer. So, so grateful that I got the opportunity, I absolutely had a lovely time.
HBA: Can you share abit about why you decided to get into this field?
NN: I actually never thought that I would get into this field. I only ever started doing it as a hobby on the side as a college student. I never truly thought it had the potential to be a career for me because the internet was so new when I started out as I was just 18 back then which is almost nine years ago now.
HBA: You have worked with Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and other A-listers. Which would you say has been your most memorable project and why?
NN: Honestly, I don’t think I would be able to pick between any of my collabs because each of them was such a unique experience. I’ve had so much fun shooting with all of these people as I basically grew up watching most of them. It’s just incredible how invested they get, ensuring that the Reel turns out perfect. Some actors are invested not just in the shoot but also in the pre-production and post-production phase of the reel.
I think it’s incredible how they’re excited to be in a piece of content with me and that’s such a great feeling, knowing that they’re not doing it just for the sake of doing it, but they’re so interested. I think this is one quality I’ve seen amongst all of the actors I’ve collaborated with so far. Some more than the others, but the same amount of passion regardless.
HBA: Who is your favourite designer to wear and why?
NN: My favourite designer to wear is definitely Shantnu and Nikhil not because I wore them at Cannes. I wore them at the festival exclusively because I absolutely love what their clothes make me feel like. I am so comfortable in them but at the same time they’re so stunning.
HBA: What would you say are three things you need to look glam/ on-point?
NN: I absolutely need my hair done at all times because I feel like when your hair looks great, you just look good irrespective of everything else looking quite average. I also like a very highlighted glowy blush and a sharp outfit.
HBA: As a platform which do you prefer Instagram or YouTube?
NN: I did start out on YouTube, but I didn’t really find what I was looking for there. I’m glad I made the switch to Instagram because I grew here as a creative. It’s a push that the platform definitely gave me which was what I truly wanted.
HBA: You were on Koffee With Karan as a judge. How was that experience? Could you share the story behind the whole thing?
NN: In contrast to what I had anticipated based on what I had read online, it was great. One of the kindest persons I have ever encountered is Karan. He is amazing and so sweet. The experience was incredible on its own. I had never imagined myself sitting on that couch. We all received hampers, so we are aware of what’s inside it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I also had the privilege of having Anaita Shroff Adajania style me which was incredible. My outfit had a moment of its own at the show. It was multiple dreams come true on the same day. Definitely a significant accomplishment.
HBA: What has been your career highlight until now?
NN: There have been many highlights in my career. I would say my career is glowing with some peak moments like doing videos with Yash, Mahesh Babu or interacting with John Legend or walking the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week or being at the Cannes Film Festival for the second time in a row. There are so many highlights and happy memories to cherish!
HBA: Could you share any future projects you are working on? What can your followers expect from you in 2023?
NN: I would honestly love to share the future projects that I’m working on right now but they’re not at a point where I can talk about them.
