Here, Bazaar Arabia’s Anahita Ghai speaks to Orry about all things his style inspiration source, travel plans, and the key fashion pieces to invest in this year…

ORRY On His Favourite Brand, Bollywood Bestie, And His Recent Collaboration With Adidas India | Exclusive

Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): What are the 3 things you cannot live without?

Orhan Awatramani (OA): So it would be:

  1. Minoxidil & finasteride
  2. Insoles with about 2-3 inches of added height
  3. Homemade basic aloe Vera gel made by my mother in a kitchen

HBA: What would you say are fashion staples everyone needs to invest in?

OA: I don’t wear staples, I buy a new outfit for every event.

HBA: What are your favourite brands and why?

OA: For traditional Indian wear, Faraz Manan, obviously. And for street style, Balenciaga. Controversy is key.

HBA: Who do you follow for style inspiration?

OA: Not one person out there is relevant enough for me to cop their fit.

HBA: Your Bollywood Best friend that has an on-point style game?

OA: Janhvi Kapoor, obviously & quite self explanatory.

HBA: Since you just came back from Dubai, what would you say was your favourite moment and look from the trip?

OA: The Atlantis Water Park. I am a total thrill seeker. The look was a shockingly bright yellow Moschino t-shirt with matching short swim trunks and of course, the statement goggles that had giant eye lashes coming out of them was a moment.

HBA: Your favourite fashion show or event that you attended? Any interesting story about that?

OA: Balenciaga’s Summer’23 show. Stated in a mud pit, opened by Kanye West and featuring so many top models like Bella Hadid. This show was the most memorable for me. And funny story, I thought the mud pit was all fake fun and just decor, and me being me, I walked right into it and found myself stuck mid-calf deep. I ended up having to hose myself down backstage just so I could get into my car ride back home.

I also did get to meet Demna and Alexa Demie back stage, but after you have voluntary fallen into a mud pool nothing else can be a memory.

HBA: We saw you are hosting something for Adidas India. Tell us a bit about that and why did you decide to do this exciting project?

OA: Honestly, I never ever do brand collabs, I don’t actually consider myself an influencer. Influential, yes, influencer no. But when Adidas reached out, I was on board because I love the brand. So I am launching their new Originals in India. The launch is at a small bar, Slink & Bardot, and we are transforming the space into a really cool experiential house party.

I guess I am also known for throwing some cool house parties in Mumbai, like my Halloween party last year & the jungle party I hosted for my friend Tania Shroff’s birthday recently, so the house party theme just clicked. We usually dress the house in décor to make it a club; here, we’re dressing the club with décor to make it a house.

HBA: Any future projects you are working on?

OA: Me. I am the project. I am always working on me.

HBA: And lastly, What are your travel plans for 2023?

OA: Antarctica. I really want to visit Antarctica and that too in full Antarctic fashion. If you see any photos of me landing up there .. you’ll know I’m on destinies path.
