In an emotional podcast appearance, the founder of Peacefull skincare, shared intimate details of her divorce

Salama Mohamed, the renowned founder of Peacefull skincare and social media sensation, has recently opened up about her divorce from Khalid Al Ameri, the man she once shared her life and screen with. Their playful and endearing skits on social media earned them a devoted following of millions, but their split has captivated the public just as intensely.

In a revealing podcast with Nour Aldin, Salama confirmed the rumours that had been swirling for months. When Nour asked directly, “You are now separated, or can I say divorced?” Salama simply replied, “Divorced.” This marked the beginning of a candid conversation about her new reality and what it means for her and her family.

Reflecting on the dissolution of her marriage, Salama shared, “It’s not about forgiveness. I totally forgave everything. There are some people I can’t forgive. There are some situations I can’t pass. But with my previous partner, he is the father of my kids. There’s always a connection there.

Maybe it’s a spiritual connection. Maybe an ethereal connection. Maybe the time we spent together, I don’t exactly know. But at the end of the day, his happiness affects my happiness. His success affects my success. His sadness affects my sadness.”

She went on to explain that she always prays for him, “I pray for him with love and happiness because if he is happy, we are happy. At the end of the day, if he is happy, my kids would be happy. I don’t know if he reached the same stage of happiness as me.”

When asked about her feelings post-divorce, Salama revealed a surprising sense of relief and safety. Nour’s question, “When have you felt the most safety in your life?” prompted a poignant response: “This year, 2024.” She added, “The day I got divorced.” For Salama, the end of her marriage marked a rebirth. “Sometimes divorce is merciful,” she said. “I was reborn on that day.”

Salama also delved into the newfound independence she discovered after the split. “For the first time, Salama’s life wasn’t dependent on anyone,” she shared. “Before marriage, I was dependent on my family. After marriage, I was dependent on my husband. But now as an independent person, it’s the first time that I know Salama.”

This journey to self-discovery hasn’t been easy. In an earlier podcast this year, she had shared a hard-earned lesson: “I can’t change people. But I can change people.” When asked how, she replied, “Remove them. Replace them.”

The couple’s story, which began with a family introduction in 2006 and blossomed into a marriage in 2007, had been one of regional adoration. Their joint social media venture, @khalidandsalama, drew millions of followers, and their skits provided a window into their lives.

However, by June 2023, their dynamic began to shift. The couple’s joint posts ceased, and speculation about their relationship grew. Early in 2024, fans noticed the unfollowing of each other on social media and the deletion of their joint Instagram account. Then, in June 2024, Khalid surprised followers with an Instagram post featuring two hands with engagement rings, captioned “Alhumdulilah,” seemingly announcing his engagement to another woman.
