The First Lady of the United States touched down in Morocco yesterday to meet with Princess Lalla Sama of Morocco to promote her #LetGirlsLearn initiative. The First Family enjoyed a celebratory iftar at the King’s Palace, where they dined with various members of the Moroccan royal family, as well as actress Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto.
Earlier in the day, Michelle touched down wearing a Proenza Schouler dress and then chose to wear a dress by Altuzarra from the brand’s A/W16 collection for the evening celebrations, whilst Malia opted for a Burberry Prorsum ensemble.

The #LetGirlsLearn program was introduced by President Barack Obama in March of last year, and Michelle visited the Middle Eastern country after it was announced they would extend funding there. US government foreign aid agency Millenium Challenge Corporation will invest Dhs367,295,000 to help improve secondary education for girls in the region, whilst USAID is also donating money to build dormitories in order to extend the opportunity for education to girls from rural areas.
