The Weeknd Just Threw Bella Hadid The Sweetest Surprise Party

Libra season has never looked so cute! Our October cover star Bella Hadid celebrated her 22nd birthday yesterday in the best possible way: with a glitzy surprise party thrown by her friends, family, and beyond sweet boyfriend Abel, AKA The Weeknd, in New York City. After spending the afternoon at a laidback brunch with Abel at Sadelle’s in Soho, he switched up the birthday vibes with an over-the-top (and totally unexpected) party. As she walked in the door and was greeted with a chorus of “Surprise!” and “Happy birthday!” from her loved ones, all the supermodel could do was smile and giggle in complete shock.
The usual crew showed up to celebrate her big day, including Gigi, her brother Anwar, Kendall, Jaden Smith, Justine Skye, and of course her parents Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid.
The venue was decorated to perfection, the ceiling fully covered in dramatic fairy lights and streamers. Her four-tier birthday cake was decorated top-to-bottom with butterflies and it was so big, it had to be wheeled in on a hotel trolley!
Surprise or not, her fit was at 100, per usual. She wore a black sequinned bustier and distressed black pants from Almaz — oh, and an unbelievable amount of diamonds. We can’t even imagine the price tag on all those b-day gifts!
Belle and The Weeknd have been notoriously on-and-off, but after throwing this fabulous surprise party for her, no more speculation necessary!
Gigi shared the cutest birthday post on Insta, saying “Celebrating my incredible lil sissy @bellahadid tonight! 22!!! Can’t believe. Witnessing you shine and share your loving light with the world fills me with pride, and I become more grateful each year for what a true friend you are to me.”
