Lisa Parigi On The Future Of NFTs and How She Met Lionel Richie

Bazaar Arabia speaks to the model turned entrepreneur on her investments, new lifestyle brand, and what’s yet to come…

Entrepreneur. Investor. NFT Collector. Model. Crypto & Blockchain Enthusiast. It doesn’t matter which hat she’s wearing; Lisa Parigi is a force to be reckoned with.

Having started her series of companies like her lifestyle brand “The Estate Collection” and her vegan skincare line “Glow Up Beauty,” Lisa Parigi has risen to the top. Born in Switzerland, the successful entrepreneur started her career in the corporate world before becoming an Internationally known model. Shortly after, the social media sensation began to gain interest in Art NFTs and is now a successful investor.

Bazaar Arabia speaks to Lisa Parigi on Crypto & blockchains, the story behind how she met her partner Lionel Richie, her new lifestyle brand, and more.

Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): Could you share a bit about your experience with NFTs and how you decided to get into this creative space?

Lisa Parigi (LP): NFTs are an extension of the things that I’m naturally interested in, which are all things design, architecture, fashion, music, and art. And NFTs feel like an invitation to combine creative things like art with technology, and I think that is something that interests me. My background is actually in tech, so it’s natural for me to read up on constantly, you know, what’s next, what is the next innovation. So it’s great to see that Non-Fungible Tokens have been creating quite the hype in conversations about why people are trading it, why we are buying it, and understanding that an NFT is a digital asset that can be purchased or traded online; most of the time with cryptocurrency, and they have a lot in common.

HBA: So your Instagram bio says: NFT Collector Art, Crypto & blockchain enthusiast. How did you get into crypto and blockchain?

LP: So NFTs have a lot in common with cryptocurrency since they are built on blockchain technology. And I think it’s fascinating to see what this platform will provide for us in the following months and years. In my opinion, blockchain will change the way we create, the way we communicate, the way we play, and the way we connect with each other.

And as time goes on, we’ve already experienced that we enjoy our in-real-life moments and experiences but just given the past two years, it’s not always possible a lot of times, and therefore, we are navigating into this new space, the Metaverse.

If there are ways to make it more pleasant and inviting with NFTs, then I think that’s a great introduction to Web3. With NFTs, there are different categories. For instance, it can be music-driven, photography-focused with just a simple jpeg, a one-of-a-kind art piece, a new game, and much more, making it possible to connect with an NFT. So, there are so many ways we can create this space as we navigate through it because we’re still so early, so the earlier we participate, we can build the direction.

HBA: Your lifestyle brand The Estate Collection includes some of the most beautiful pieces. Why did you decide to start this brand? Was there a specific inspiration?

LP: Within GlowUp Beauty, I’ve created a lifestyle brand called The Estate Collection, and it’s driven obviously by beauty products. One of my favourites is the under-eye collagen mask, which is inspired by all my travels. As I moved from one place to another, I wanted to have something easy to use, uncomplicated and quick. So I developed this mask that I can use in the hotel rooms, planes, and cars, which is very simple and easy to use. And in addition to that, I’ve added four new products that include a face mask stick which can be applied without using your fingers for hygienic purposes. Then there is the turmeric mask, pink clay, and green tea, all of which have natural properties to enhance your beauty routine. Truly ideal for exfoliating, nourishing, hydrating, brightening, and cleansing.

HBA: How did you meet Lionel Richie? Can you share the story?

LP: How I met Lionel. So, maybe to give you a little bit of backstory, I’m from Switzerland, and at the time, I was working for a tech company, and I took time off to travel. I wanted to explore some things, just see the world a little bit. And so I decided to go to Los Angeles, California. I thought, wow, that’s a great idea, and it was. So I got to LA, you know, blue skies, the sun is shining every day, it was great, and if you know a little bit about Switzerland, we have four seasons and most of the time it just rains or either snows, so that you know a little depressing, so LA, you know, it was just a fantastic trip. So, long story short, I got invited to this dinner on very short notice, completely unplanned. So here I am at this dinner, he was at the same dinner, we get introduced to each other, and it was, what can I tell you, it was very organic and very random, but we had great conversations, we spoke all night long about everything, and yet it was, you know, the universe, I don’t know, here we are. And it’s been beautiful so far, and what can I say.

HBA: What is your favourite Lionel Richie song?

LP: What’s my favourite song? That’s interesting; there are so many iconic songs, and they’re all, wow, I would say between Endless Love or Stuck On You. Yeah, I’ll go with Stuck On You, the lyrics, the melody, and although I go to literally almost every show, each time, it feels like I’m hearing it for the first time, so it captivates me, and it feels special. So yeah, I guess I would pick that one today as my favourite song.

HBA: Is there any exciting new thing you are working on?

LP: Yes! There are so many things that are still in the works, but maybe to just share a few, I’ve been invited as an advisor to a few different blockchain-based projects; this is super exciting as I am very passionate about this space. I’m also looking forward to investing in upcoming start-ups and new ideas and just seeing what else is possible for all of us to develop in the Web3 space.
