Arab Royals Extend Their Warm Wishes For The Hijri New Year

As the moon heralds new beginnings, Arab royals share their warm wishes online

As the sun set on July 19, ushering in the first day of Muharram, members of the royal family across all the Arab nations embraced the joyous occasion of the Hijri New Year, which marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar, now reaching the year 1445.

The UAE’s President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, conveyed their heartfelt wishes to mark this auspicious event.

In their posts, the esteemed royals extended prayers and hope for “good health and happiness, further progress and prosperity for their peoples, and dignity and glory for Arab and Islamic nations,” as reported by WAM.

To celebrate the dawn of this new Islamic year, the iconic Burj Khalifa illuminated the Dubai skyline with a dazzling light show, radiating a sense of joy and togetherness. In honour of the festivities, the UAE has also declared Friday, July 21, 2023, a public holiday, inviting the nation to partake in the jubilant festivities.
