This significant event was a collaborative endeavour between the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation for the announcement of the World Cup for Electronic Sports, scheduled to take place in the vibrant city of Riyadh during the summer of 2024.
The conference included a group of decision-makers in the sports sector, gaming space, and electronic sports sector, as well as the Portuguese Al-Nasar star Cristiano Ronaldo.

During the official inauguration of the World Cup for Electronic Sports, the football legend keenly sat in the first row for the exciting sport’s announcement. Later, Cristiano Ronaldo participated in discussions with other attendees and expressed his excitement after meeting the Crown Prince.
Posting on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the star footballer shared insight into what was discussed at the New World Sports Conference in Riaydh.

The Football star also added: “Today was wonderful as I witnessed the launch of the first electronic sports tournament #esportsworldcup, which will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next year. I also enjoyed being among the guests in the conference sessions to discuss the future of electronic sports.”

E-Sports World Cup Championship
In addition to the announcement about the Electronic World Cup, the Crown Prince also announced the launch of the Electronic Sports World Cup Foundation, a non-profit organisation and organising partner of the tournament.
Serving as a central hub to facilitate the cooperation of gaming partners in an effort to enhance e-sports growth and sustainability in alignment with SPA.
