The First Lady of Oman opted for pearlescent grey jalabiyas with aqua undertones and matching shayla for the official photograph
Her Highness Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah certainly doesn’t underestimate the power of elegant dressing.
In an official portrait shared on Thursday evening, the First Lady of Oman opted to wear a gold embellished velvet jalabiya with grey and aqua undertones, paired with a matching shayla.
The jalabiya was created by Omani designer Nawal AlHooti. The brand’s luxurious collections include not only abayas and jalabiyas, but other ready-to-wear pieces like gowns, maxi dresses, jackets, and blazers in unique silhouettes, all inspired by Middle Eastern heritage.
Established in 1998 the label has also made its mark on the international fashion scene, having showcased collections in France, Italy, and at Muscat Fashion Weeks.
Her Highness is no stranger to dressing the part of elegant royal. Her most popular ensemble, a spectacular pink silk dress with dark green sequined detailing around the neck and the wrists paired with a purple tulle sheila, was designed by Amal Al Raisi, another Omani designer.
The brand seems to be Her Highness’ label of choice, previously having been commissioned to design a custom creation for a recent birthday. The white dress featured pink embroidery around the neck and on the sleeves, and was paired with a sheer shayla.
