His Majesty addressed His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, the Emir of Qatar, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawahar bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani in a speech that highlighted the UK’s special relationship with Qatar
His Majesty King Charles III warmly welcomed two of the region’s most prominent royals earlier this week to Buckingham Palace: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, the Emir of Qatar, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawahar bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
The royal couple arrived in the UK on Monday, December 2nd for an official state visit and were the guests of honour at a banquet yesterday evening, hosted by the British King and Queen.
The much anticipated two-day visit marks His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawahar bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani’s first time in the United Kingdom.
King Charles addressed their Highness in Arabic, before switching to English to highlight the special bond between the two countries.
“The United Kingdom is proud to be Qatar’s oldest friend in the Western world. We have a special bond founded on mutual respect which has stood the test of time,” His Majesty said.
