The Danish Royal Family celebrated the birthday of the princess this weekend

As the Danish Royal family continues to capture the hearts of many across the globe, a special millstone was celebrated this weekend. Princess Isabella, daughter of King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary, turned 17.

In a delightful series of pictures uploaded by the Danish Royal family’s official Instagram, Princess Isabella radiated pure happiness and joy and she posed with the family’s furry companion, Coco, dressed in a chic ensemble featuring a white T-Shirt and an oversized brown blazer.

The caption, “Her Royal highness Princess Isabella has a birthday and turns 17 today” conveyed the significance of the event. It was also revealed that Queen Mary herself has captured these moments to commemorate this special day.

On April 21, 2007, Princess Isabella was born at Rigshospitalet, marking Danish history as the first girl born into the Royal family in several decades. Her baptism was a royal affair with Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark and Queen Mathilde of Belgium serving as her godmothers.

Princess Isabella has attended prestigious institutions like Tranegårdskolen and Ingrid Jespersens Gymnasieskole; she then followed the footsteps of her father and uncle by enrolling at Øregård Gymnasium.

Beyond her academic achievements, Princess Isabella is part of a close-knit family, cherished by her parents Queen Mary and King Frederik, and her siblings Prince Christian, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. This bond has recently been displayed during the historic moment when King Frederik ascended to the Danish throne, following the voluntary abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe.

As Princess Isabella steps into her 17th year surrounded by love and support, she embodies the spirit of Danish royalty, embracing tradition whilst forging her own path. Happy Birthday, Princess Isabella!
