Watch: Queen Rania Hosts An Iftar in Jerash
It’s been a busy few weeks for Her Majesty, yet she was able to make time for the city’s women
Dressed in traditional Jordanian attire, Queen Rania hosted an Iftar for a group of women from the city of Jerash on Tuesday.
The event was held amidst the ancient Roman ruins the region is known for and it was attended by the governor of the area, Firas Faour.
The Queen of Jordan took time to commend the guests for their contributions to the local community during the gathering, which brought together a number of women from across the governorate, who take part in social and youth advocacy, according to a statement from the Office of Her Majesty.
Speaking at the event, Queen Rania was quoted as saying, “Jerash is known for its beautiful nature, history, and ruins, but what makes it most remarkable are its people and women.”
“You are an incredible and admirable group of Jordanian women,” Her Majesty added. “Each and every one of you is the epitome of kindness and generosity within your homes and beyond,” she said.
It’s been a busy few weeks for the Queen of Jordan. Last week, Her Majesty met with Egypt’s President Abdelfattah Elsisi’s wife, Entissar Amer.
