In addition to attending several events in Dubai, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra kept herself busy and spent a majority of her days in January 2022, exploring the various futuristic cultural displays at Dubai’s Expo 2020, the global event that transformed the city into an international hub of innovation and technology for six months.
Her Highness Sheikha Mahra took to Instagram to share her experiences at the exhibition after spending a total of 5 days exploring the premise. October 2023 marks two years since Expo 2020 opened its doors. Here, Bazaar Arabia looks back all of the times HH Sheikha Mahra visited the immersive grounds, celebrating the best of international innovation, culture and technology alongside visitors.

Day 1
On her first day at Expo 2020 Her Highness Sheikha Mahra toured the UAE, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Al Estedama, Terra and Vision pavilions.
In the UAE pavilion, Her Highness is seen interacting with the “Generations” showcase, a portrayal of the emirates history from start to finish, ending with a feature on assumptions of what the near future would look like. Following that heartwarming experience, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra watched the screening of “Dreaming Together,” an immersive film promoting Emirati culture and values.
The Dubai Royal was also seen at the Terra pavilion exploring “The Endless Wardrobe” showcase that promotes sustainability by representing an unnecessary abundance of clothes in our closets leading to a negative impact on the environment.
Day 2
On her second day, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra explored the UK, Germany, Canada, France, India and ENOC pavilions.
In her video, Her Highness is seen visiting the different themed areas in the Germany pavilion while interacting with cutting-edge innovations and sculptures that portray German innovative and sustainable solutions to global problems.
In the Canada pavilion, Sheikha Mahra explored an exhibition inspired by the the nation’s landscape and diversity, and watched a digital film that highlighted Canada’s timeline and story.
In the India pavilion, she experienced a rotating digital showcase that highlighted the natural landscapes, resources and diversity of India.
Finally, Her Highness participated in an interactive display at the ENOC pavilion learning about the principles of energy and how it transforms the world.
Day 3
Her Highness Sheikha Mahra revisited the UAE, Al Estedama and Vision Pavilions, this time with a cheerful group that included children.
Day 4
On her fourth day, Her Highness visited with her mother and spent some time at the UAE, Greece and Vision pavilions, while exploring the Mexico, Syria, Lebanon and the Philippines pavilions for the first time.
In the Mexico pavilion, the duo were seen touring a colorful display of hand-woven and crocheted art that highlighted the contribution of women in the preservation of Mexican culture.
At the Syrian pavilion, the two are seen learning more about Syrian artists that are seeking to break stereotypes and find a new identity through their works.
Finally, in the Lebanon pavilion, Her Highness and her mother watched visual displays that highlighted Lebanese landscapes, sports and nightlife.
Day 5
On her final day, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra visited the Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand Pavilions.
In the Argentina pavilion, she immersed herself in a multi-sensory experience, enjoying the views of Argentina’s vast landscape and a tango dance display.
The Dubai Royal participated in a 360 degrees adventure about Thailand’s history and culture, taking a closer look into its traditional art forms and the Royal family.
In the Jamaica pavilion, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra partook in an audio-visual experience that highlighted Jamaica’s most iconic musicians, artists and producers.
In the Guatemala pavilion, Her Highness interacted with a cultural installation showcasing Guatemala’s hiking, wildlife spotting and adventure sports.
