Saudi Arabia’s Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud Shares Highlights From Maison Assouline’s “The Arabian Leopard” Launch Party
A glimpse inside an evening that celebrated conservation and big cats
Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud recently attended Maison Assouline’s launch event for The Arabian Leopard in London.
The book – which has been authored by Andrew Spalton, a wildlife conservationist – details the history and cultural significance of the Arabian Leopard to the Kingdom, in addition to the many initiatives undertaken by the Royal Commission for AlUla to support in the species’ conversation, according to the publisher.
Preserving the Arabian Leopard is a cause that is close to the Princess’ heart. Apart from being the Saudi’s first female Ambassador to the US, she is also the founder of the Catmosphere Foundation, which raises awareness about big cats and their livelihood.
The event also highlighted the work of The Royal Commission for AlUla – which houses and breeds Arabian Leopards in their nature reserves and has established The Global Fund for the Arabian Leopard.
With its listing as a “critically endangered animal” by the IUCN, conserving the Kingdom’s Arabian Leopards is the need of the hour – and the Princess’ efforts are an important step in the direction of Saudi wildlife preservation.
