UAE Royal Wedding: Sheikha Hissa Weds Sheikh Maktoum
The daughter of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikha Hissa and Sheikh Maktoum bin Majid Al Maktoum got married on April 25 according to the Official News Agency of UAE
UAE Royal Wedding: Images of the invitations to the upcoming women-only wedding ceremony after the wedding of Her Highness Sheikha Hissa Bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Majid Al Maktoum were shared via Arabian Royal Agency on Tuesday evening.
Yesterday, Arabian Royal Agency shared images of the marble-engraved invitations to the upcoming wedding ceremony that is a part of the wedding of Sheikha Hissa, daughter of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Maktoum, son of Sheikh Majid bin Obaid Al Maktoum.
The women-only ceremony will take place later this week.
The invitations, which were shared widely on on social media, invite esteemed guests to attend and wish the newlywed royals.
The wedding took place on April 25, as confirmed by WAM, and was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; and other senior members of the royal family.
Her Highness Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the daughter of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, and Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
The princess is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Voices of Future Generations Initiative for the Middle East region which promotes children’s rights and supports the development of children’s literature.
Sheikha Hissa authored Tajaarub: From a Horsewoman’s Journey, described as an “Arab girl’s treasured tales of growing up among horses”, in 2014. The book draws inspiration from the royal’s upbringing among the majestic animals and her devotion to equestrian sports.
The passionate horsewoman majored in International Studies at Zayed University. Sheikha Hissa took the reins at Shadwell Shud, a global racing and breeding enterprise consisting of both Thoroughbred and Arabian horses , continuing Sheikh Hamdan’s legacy in a leadership role, as per reports by BloodHorse.
No additional details about the upcoming ceremony have been released. Emirati royals are famously private individuals.
When will Sheikha Hissa’s ceremony take place?
After the young royals Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Majid Al Maktoum tied the knot on Tuesday, April 25, Sheikha Hissa’s women-only ceremony will take place on Friday, May 5, according to Arabian Royal Agency.
