It has most certainly been a rocky time for the British royal family, with the combination of the sudden passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022 — subsequently ending the Elizabethian era, leading her son and heir to the throne becoming King Charles II. Beginning the Carolean era in British history.

The Princess of Wales wasn’t the only one within the British royal family who extended their royal titles — Queen Consort Camilla was appointed as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards which had been previously held by Prince Andrew as well as Prince William who has been named Colonel of the Welsh Guards.

So…What Is Kate Middleton’s Title?

The forty-year-old member of the British royal family and Princess of Wales has been named honourary Colonel of the Irish Guards. This title is the same title given to her husband and heir apparent to the British throne — Prince William, more than 10 years ago. Additionally, Prince William was also the first Royal Colonel for the Irish Guards.
