Who Is Princess Aisha bint Faisal? 4 Facts About The Jordanian Royal

From her social work to her passion for representing her heritage, here what you need to know about Princess Aisha

The Jordanian ruling family is amongst the most prominent and largest group of royals in the world. The late His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, father of His Majesty King Abdullah II, welcomed 12 children. Amongst his grandchildren is Princess Aisha, the niece of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.

A recent Instagram post by a fan page of the royal family has brought the princess under the spotlight.

According to the post, King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan Bin Talal, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II as well as her father, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, have collectively sought her hand in marriage for Kareem Yazid Al Mufti.  

Whether there will be wedding bells ringing soon is yet to be officially confirmed but the rumours of the royal proposal add another layer of intrigue to the life of Princess Aisha, a distinguished member of Jordan’s dynamic and influential royal lineage. To mark the occasion, Bazaar Arabia brings you four intriguing facts about the princess.

She’s One of Four Siblings.

The 27-year-old royal is the daughter of Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein and Princess Alia Tabbaa. Her mother is of Syrian descent. She is the younger sister of Princess Ayah and Prince Omar and is also the identical twin of Princess Sara.

She’s the holder of multiple degrees.

She attended Amman Baccalaureate School, a private school in Jordan. For her higher education, the princess received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and then graduated with honours from the University of Westminster with Master’s degree (LLM) in Religion, Law, and Society from the University of Westminster.

She actively partakes in social work.

She’s part of the Generations For Peace (GFP) organisation, a Jordan-based global non-profit peace-building entity founded by her father, Prince Faisal in 2007.

According to the GFP website, Before joining the organisation, Aisha spent over four years working in prisons in the UK as part of a University-Prisoner partnership. She has published two papers on prisons before she completed her Master’s degree.

She likes making a style statement.

While the princess generally keep a low profile, during her public appearances she’s seen sporting elegant looks.

She particularly seems to enjoy representing her heritage and is often seen wearing pieces by the Jordan-based label Funtazza Designs, which specialises in traditional clothing.
