Saudi Arabia Introduces New Social Distancing Rules

As part of preventive and precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to curb the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of all residents and citizens, the Saudi Ministry of Interior added new rules to its list of social-distancing measures and regulations.

Individuals who refuse to have their temperature checked when entering public or private sector buildings will be fined SR1,000 riyals (Dhs978). Anyone who fails to properly wear a face mask in public or adhere to the social distancing rules will also risk a fine up to SR1,000 (Dhs978).

The kingdom has recently announced 1,870 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 thus far, bringing the total number of recoveries to 58,883.

More than 70 percent of coronavirus patients in the Kingdom have recovered from the disease. However, There were 22 new COVID-19-related deaths reported on Saturday, raising the total number of fatalities to 480.
