Summer Concerts In The MENA Region: From Amr Diab to Maroon 5, Here’s What You Missed and What’s Coming Up…

From Riyadh to Cairo performers from around the world are taking to the stage

For many of us, summer is a time to go outdoors with friends, enjoy the good weather and listen to our favourite music. During the past week, artists hosted the most extravagant live performances making certain that their fans are celebrating Eid al-Fitr the right way.

The Grammy award-winning group Maroon 5 was invited to perform at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt on May 3rd. The band is one of the very few acts to be chosen to host a concert at this historical site.

The frontman of the hit group Adam Levine revealed his thoughts and excitement about this experience on The Ellen Show, “It’s not one of those things that you think of as a musician that is feasible or possible because it seems so out of this world to do it,” he said.

Their outstanding performance saw the likes of a number of A-list celebrities including Arwa Gouda and Tara Emad.

For Arabic music lovers, Egyptian pop sensation Amr Diab made his first appearance in Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on the same day; his elaborate performance and light-filled setup took social media by storm.

And don’t worry if you’ve missed these! The next few days are already looking quite busy with Iraqi singer Kadim Al-Sahir who is set to host a live performance on Saturday in Riyadh. Ending the series of Eid concerts is Egyptian artist Angham and Yemeni singer Fouad Abdelwahed, who will be performing in Kuwait on May 12.
