Swan Lake Is Coming To Riyadh

From March 29 to March 31, a production of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece ballet, “Swan Lake,” will be performed by the Romae Capital Ballet at the Riyadh Front’s Culture Square

Composed over 100 years ago, the ballet is still recognised as one of the best in the world. Countless renditions have been performed by premier companies from Moscow to New York City. The ballet even inspired the top-grossing feature film, Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman.

The four-act ballet tells the doomed love story of Odette and her lover, Prince Siegried. Odette is a princess who has been cursed by an evil sorcerer and transformed into a swan. She is only able to embody her human form at night; the only way for her spell to be broken is if the Prince declares his steadfast love for her.

A dazzling spectacle of excellence in ballet, music and costume design, the enchanting ballet is replete with passion and emotion and promises to be a one-of-a-kind spectacle.

The ballet is part of a series of events and performances organized by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and taking place at Riyadh Front’s Culture Square from March 20-31, according to Arab News.
