In the midst of Saudi Arabia’s evolving sporting landscape, the realm of boxing takes on a new feminine hue
The Saudi Boxing Federation, in collaboration with the International Boxing Association, recently hosted a transformative week-long coaching training program tailored exclusively for women in the vibrant city of Riyadh.

The groundbreaking endeavour brought together a diverse cohort of 38 passionate female boxing enthusiasts hailing from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Eritrea, and Jordan.
Under the expert guidance of the renowned Egyptian coach, Nadia Abdelhameed Mohamed, vice-president of the IBA coaches committee, the comprehensive curriculum blended insightful theoretical sessions with hands-on practical exercises. Culminating in an inspiring crescendo, successful participants proudly achieved the esteemed IBA 1-star coach certification, a testament to their dedication and prowess.

This landmark training initiative mirrors a burgeoning trend of female empowerment in the Kingdom, with an increasing number of women embracing boxing as a form of athletic expression.
Notably, Saudi Arabia marked a significant milestone with the appointment of its first certified female boxing trainer, Rasha Alkhamis, who also holds the esteemed position of vice-president within the Saudi Boxing Federation.
