The World’s Best Glamping Spots For 2019 Revealed

Outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com have rounded up the best glamping locations to visit in the UK, Europe and further afield, in 2019.
Whether you want to swim with turtles, get your adrenaline fix, indulge in the finest food, or simply relax on a white sandy beach with a good book, there’s a spot to suit all needs…
1. Best for romantic glamping: Conwy, Wales

The perfect spot for a romantic couple’s escape is in Wales at Waenfechan Glamping in Conwy.
Stay in cosy camping pods, each with its own hot tub and fully equipped kitchen, living, sleeping and dining areas plus both mountain and sea views, it really could not be any better! With Conwy, Llandudno and Snowdonia on the doorstep, there is plenty to see and do while staying.

2. Best for short-haul sunshine glamping: Crete, Greece

Try something a little different on the Greek island of Crete in 2019 and stay in a restored dry-docked boat.
The Olive Ranch site has quirky accommodation for two on board the Wild-de-go, a fully restored 1920s ferry.
The lovingly refurbished boat has retained much of her old characters such as the portholes and beams, but now also boasts a well-equipped kitchen, woodburning stove, sleeping area and, of course, a lovely deck for sunbathing.
Located near Kalyves, it’s a 30-minute drive from the main city of Chania. The boat is ‘moored’ on a private plot at a family farm where visitors can enjoy pony rides and meet the other animals on site.

3. Best for eco-glamping: Ljubljana, Slovenia

For a holiday that ticks all the eco boxes, Slovenia Eco Resort – just outside Ljubljana – will hit the spot.
With a focus on sustainability and wellness, guests are encouraged to pick their own seasonal, organic vegetables; take part in workshops or guided bike rides and walks, or simply relax in the sauna or with a massage.
Accommodation is in huts which sleep between two and five, the larger ones coming with en-suite facilities. All huts include sleeping, dining, living and cooking areas. On-site visitors will also find a small wildlife zoo and a private river beach.

It’s a haven for adrenaline-packed activities including abseiling, zip-lining and bungee jumping, not to mention the most spectacular scenery.

8. Best for wild glamping: Tok, Alaska

It’s impossible not to switch on the TV these days without seeing a show about railroads, trucking or building in Alaska, always showcasing the spectacular scenery of this remote wilderness.
For those inspired to try it out for themselves, Log Cabin Wilderness Lodge offers a truly wild experience with possible Northern Lights sightings, sauna and wood-fired hot tub all adding to the adventure.
Stay in the traditional historic cabin and follow in the footsteps of John Wayne who was said to have stayed here. The cosy lodge, dating back to the 1940s, has a double bed and its own woodburning stove.

7. Best for budget glamping somewhere special: Karatu, Tanzania

Budget-conscious travellers who want to experience Africa’s wildlife and culture will find Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge has it all, from just £86 (Dhs401 approx) per night.
The luxury, classically African style lodge and tented huts are located in a conservation area close to the Ngorongoro Crater which is said to have the world’s highest density of lions, plus other mammals including wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, elephant, cheetahs, leopards and buffalo.
Each tent sleeps three and features a spacious area for relaxing plus an en-suite shower room and private verandah. And if all that lion watching gets too much, there is a restaurant on site, plus a Jacuzzi.
8. Best for winter glamping: Northern Lapland, Finland

Accommodation is in the coolest geodesic domes (sleeps two) which sit right on a lake. Each dome is super stylish, furnished, heated and has lighting. In fact, they even come with en-suite shower rooms.
