Uber Yachts: Could This Be The Chicest Way To Get Around This Summer?
Uber has announced a fleet of sleek private speedboats, river cruisers and even a private yacht to escort holidaymakers around Europe’s chicest hotspots this summer, all available at just one quick tap
Having conquered taxis, helicopters and trains, it was only a matter of time before Uber took to the seven seas. This summer, those escaping the hottest months in the UAE will find travelling around Europe’s most popular destinations infinitely easier thanks to Uber’s new fleet of speedboats, river boats and an exclusive private yacht.
Rolling out across Europe in July, with services available in Ibiza, Venice, Athens, Paris, Corfu and Santorini, the taxi giant’s new water services will service increasing demand from its international customers, with more than 6.5 million people using the Uber app in Europe’s holiday hot spots last summer.

For those accustomed to booking Uber’s most luxurious vehicles, Uber Yacht takes things up a notch. From July 31, 204 customers can pre-book its new Ibiza yacht service via Uber Reserve, available for all-day hire between 3-17 August, with just 48 hour’s notice. The sleek Sunseeker hosts up to eight people and will depart from Ibiza Town Marina every day at 12:00pm, allowing holidaymakers to explore the white isle for just Dhs786 (€200) per head. Guests can choose from five routes, weather permitting, which include Cala Saona, Formentera Illetes, Cala D’Hort, Punta Galera and Olivera.
With complimentary beverages and locally sourced gourmet snacks, travellers can relax in style as they take in sunset views at the rock of Es Vedra, chaperoned by their personal skipper for the duration of the 8-hour voyage. As you would expect, Uber transfers to and from the yacht are included from anywhere on the island, offering a door to door service.
In Venice, customers will be able to use the Uber app to summon a Limo Boat on demand, a first-of-its-kind water transport service that makes it easier than ever to explore the Venetian Lagoon. Priced from Dhs472 (€120) per trip, the service accommodates up to 6 people, and can be booked between 8:00 and 20:00 each day.
Meanwhile in Paris, customers can call an all-electric boat via Uber Cruise to drift along the Seine, taking in enchanting views of Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.

In Greece, Uber Boat will launch in Mykonos and then expand to include Athens, Corfu and Santorini, ushering holidaymakers from chic beach clubs and hidden coves to local beauty spots.
“At Uber we want to give our customers the opportunity to go anywhere, wherever they are travelling,” says Anabel Diaz, Vice President, EMEA Mobility at Uber. “Whether it’s sailing around Ibiza in your own private yacht or experiencing the Venetian Lagoon by boat, we’re thrilled to add some Uber magic to our customers’ holidays this summer.”
