UAE Hidden Gems: 5 Seasonal Winter Spots To Visit This Month

One Degree Cafe

The Jumeirah-based coffee shop opens a pop-up every winter in the Sharjah desert near Markham. The spectacular views of the desert and the wintery nights make it one of the hot spots during the colder season. With comfortable cushioned seating, you can enjoy live music and a fire show. One Degree Cafe is open daily from 3pm to 1am, offering all of the people’s favourite drinks.

Mikoko

Located in the Northern Emirates of Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Beach, the new pop-up makes you feel like you have travelled to Zanzibar. With beautiful views, this restaurant offers breakfast favourites and mains such as pizza, pasta and risotto. You can go on tours around the area and also indulge in various activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding. Mikoko is open from 8am to 10am.

Liwa Village

Nestled in the heart of the Liwa desert, Liwa Village returns this winter from December 8th to 31st. It is the perfect place to escape the noise of the city, with endless choices of entertainment and food to try. You can find locally made coffee shops, food stalls and a traditional souk, along with a stage set for entertainers. Don’t miss a chance to feel the magic this winter at Liwa.

Under The Shade

This small sanctuary, located at Hatta’s heritage village, makes it the perfect spot to hang out and relax after a full day of activities. With the colder weather now upon us, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee while listening to the chirping of the birds and the trickling of the water. With palm trees surrounding the premises, you can feel the captivating beauty of the oasis.

Link by Mara

The famous Mara Restaurant has now opened a pop-up, Link by Mara, near Sharjah Sustainable City. As usual, Mara always offers a wide range of dishes, including sushi and kushiyaki. This desert pop-up is open from Monday till Thursday, from 5pm till 2am, and from Friday till Sunday from 5pm till 3am.
