UAE Public Holidays 2025: The Full List
As the Christmas and New Year holidays draw to an end, residents of the UAE cannot help but wonder when the next public holiday—long weekend or not—will be upon us.
When is the Eid Al Fitr holiday? Will there be a public holiday during Ramadan? What is the duration of the Eid Al Adha public holiday, and will there be a National Day long weekend? Read ahead for all the UAE public holidays in store in 2025.
UAE Public Holidays 2025: The Full List For Public And Private Sector Workers
New Year Day: 1 Day
Taking place annually on January 1, the first UAE public holiday of 2025 commemorates the arrival of the New Year.
Eid Al Fitr: 4 Days
Spanning a period of 4 days, the second public holiday of 2025 celebrates Eid Al Fitr—commencing on the 29th day of Ramadan until the 3rd day of Shawwal. The exact dates are predicated upon lunar sightings which are yet to be announced by the UAE government, but are estimated this year as March 31 – April 2.

Arafah day and Eid Al Adha: 4 Days
The UAE Cabinet has confirmed yet another 4 days off in honour of Arafah day and the Feast of Sacrifice. The precise dates are subject to official government announcements as per lunar sightings, but are predicted circa May 31 – June 2, 2025.
Islamic New Year: 1 Day
Subject to lunar lightings, the fourth public holiday of the year will commemorate the Islamic New Year, to be celebrated on June 27, 2025.
Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday: 1 Day
Confirmed to take place on September 1, 2025 the fifth public holiday of the year celebrate Prophet Mohammad’s birthday. The date is, however, subject to lunar sightings and might change.
National Day Long Weekend: 4 Days
Spanning a period of 4 days, the final public holiday of 2025 is also a long weekend. In commemoration of UAE National Day, residents of the UAE will have the following days off – December 2-3, 2025. This constitutes a 4-day-long weekend.
