Inspired by a love of pottery, New York-based Jonathan Adler’s gorgeous furniture and home décor pieces are the perfect blend of elegance and modern comfort, writes Ayesha Shehmir
Situated in bustling Dubai Design District (d3) at IV Gallery are pieces from the latest collection of American designer and entrepreneur, Jonathan Adler. The New York-based designer is famed for the use of minimalistic and bright materials in the creation of his bespoke furnishings and home décor. Prior to establishing his very first furniture store in SoHo, Manhattan, the artist avidly pursued his passion for pottery. In 1993, Barneys in New York launched Adler’s debut ceramic collection and five years later, the first Jonathan Adler store was launched.

Now located worldwide with a thriving online presence, the company is flourishing with a spread of luxury items from lighting, bedding and candles to hand-knotted rugs and bath accessories. The admirable craftsmanship is reflected by the intricate designs and elegant tones of golden, white, yellow and baby-blues. With over a thousand wholesale locations around the world, Adler’s designs are also spotted in restaurants and hotels globally.

The IV showroom in Dubai highlights a spread of Adler’s furniture and home décor including chairs, lamps and sofas. Perfect for a vibrant, yet tranquil atmosphere, Godfrey is a mustard-yellow chair designed for the utmost comfort with personal finishing touches. The Electrum Accent Table, made with a mix of golden and silver metals, polished brass and nickel rods, is the ideal combination of elements for a touch of sophistication and contemporary glamour. Candle holders in the style of white hands, trendy pillows with printed letters and decoration pieces that enliven the home- such as a golden vase in the shape of a banana- are also on show along with other progressive designs and established creations by the artist.

Highlighted by IV Gallery, Adler’s elegant interiors imbue eclectic vibes and complement any home with artistic flair. Launched in 2018, IV represents global brands that specialise in contemporary home interiors. The lifestyle showroom in Dubai is also home to LA-based furniture designer Rene Cazares and New York-based architect Robert Sonneman.
