It’s impossible to take a bad photograph at Boardwalk – and that goes for both the food and the view. Perched over Dubai Creek's sparkling water, the Mediterranean-style restaurant is undeniably Instagram-friendly without bordering on cliché.
While the décor and ambience have no doubt been designed to transport diners away from the hustle and bustle of the city, at Boardwalk the devil is in the detail: cerulean blue mosaic tiles and ocean-inspired artworks are paired with nautical accents and polished wooden floors. One could most definitely be forgiven for thinking they had taken a wrong, yet fortunate turn and landed in the Med.
Out on the sun-drenched deck, Boardwalk continues to mesmerise with its vast dining space backed by impressive views of Downtown Dubai’s iconic skyline. Even if you don’t manage to nab a seat at the water’s edge, tables further back have thoughtfully been crafted to sit at a higher level so that all guests can soak in the spectacular sights.
Elegant simplicity is the theme of the menu where seafood is the speciality. Locally caught, and international treasures from the ocean take centre stage with a Mediterranean twist. Expect to feast on grilled octopus with chili and lime, frutti di mare pizza, seafood spaghetti, and zesty salads. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant takes overfishing seriously and purchases its seafood from sustainable sources that are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council, and Aquaculture Stewardship Council.
Vegans and vegetarians needn’t miss out for not only is there a mouth-watering parade of options on the menu, but the chefs will kindly accommodate by re-designing dishes to suit any dietary preferences. Try the charred eggplant with caramelised lemon and garlic, or the creamy burrata drizzled with balsamic and a magical sprinkle of fresh basil and pine nuts. We challenge you to save room for dessert.
This picture-perfect hotspot should most definitely be at the top of your list for when the in-laws are in town. Save a seat at the table for us, would you?
