His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz once said, “All success stories start with a vision.” A perfect piece of advice for all the dreamers out there who want to take the leap from mere ideas and actually put into action all those ambitions. In Saudi, that is a great many of us – and just as well, since this is exactly how the Kingdom continues to take great strides towards evolution and excellence.
It’s just one of the reasons, no doubt, that our cover girl – Saudi’s latest star addition to the neighbourhood, Georgina Rodriguez – has taken to life in the Kingdom so seamlessly. When she and longtime partner Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Riyadh in January, waves were made – but entirely of the good kind. Driven, family focused, hugely successful with a love of the finer things, both Gio and Cristiano were arguably made for Saudi living, their sensibilities already aligned. And like any true pioneers, the couple’s headline-making move has now set into motion a slew of other international football transfers. We see you, Benzema! Whatever your take on it, one thing is certain – all eyes are certainly upon us.
Our interview with the Spanish model, mogul and mum highlighted just how much more there is to Georgina than what we might see on Instagram, or what the media may have shaped over the years. A truly sensitive soul, her raw openness in both the interview and on her Netflix documentary, I Am Georgina, is both commendable and deeply relatable. But she’s also a good-time girl. Her love of fashion and her energy bounced around the set as she tried on voluminous, ruffled capes, heavily embellished floor-sweeping gowns and Chopard jewellery of dreams – the girl is, after all, a dab hand at more-is-more diamond stacking.
