2024 Met Gala: 7 Of The Best Celebrity Stylists

From Law Roach to Mimi Cuttrell, Bazaar Arabia unravels who was styled by who at this year’s red carpet…

Being celebrity stylist is one of the most difficult jobs there is, no doubt. It requires much more than simply sourcing an outfit or choosing the right pair of shoes. I would argue it’s an artform. A declaration of one’s personal brand, a means to control their image. What you wear, who you’re wearing, and how you’re dressed can, pretty much, make or break your reputation.

Particularly with the iconic Met Gala, today’s social media age has turned fashion into a form of entertainment. It seems as though everyone has an opinion on red-carpet and celebrity style nowadays, and so, the influence of a stylist has only grown.

With this in mind, to honour their contributions Bazaar Arabia have collated a list of 7 stylists whose immaculate work enriched the Met Gala’s red carpet this year…

7 Of The Best Celebrity Stylists At the Met Gala 2024

Law Roach

Naming himself as an “Image Architect”, Law Roach is one of the most renowned celebrity stylists in Hollywood. His iconic work with Zendaya has made headlines numerous times, and this year, he’s only done it again, but better. He not only styled Zendaya in both an organza dress by Maison Margiela and a magnificent black gown from John Galliano’s Givenchy era, he also styled entrepreneur Mona Patel. Her Iris van Herpen gown, which has completely taken over the internet, featured an intricate corset and a scalloped train of mechanical butterflies. Law Roach certainly understood the assignment.

Dani Michelle

Styling Kendall Jenner, as she wore a Givenchy archival gown, only ever worn by a mannequin, Dani Michelle’s work at the Met truly shone. Alongside Kendall, Dani is known for styling iconic faces such as Hailey Bieber, Elsa Hosk, and Bruna Marquezine, who she also dressed for the gala in a beautiful custom Tory Burch gown.

Samantha McMillen

Samantha McMillen styled Ellie Fanning, Brie Larson, Charlie Hunnam, and Chris Hemsworth for the event. Her curation of Ellie’s Balmain gown in particular, has attracted much attention online for its glass-like design, which exuded Disney Princess in the most fitting way possible.

Molly Dickson

Styling Sydney Sweeney, Camilla Mendes and Lana del Rey, Molly Dickson curated some of the best outfits on the Met-carpet. Dressing Sydney in custom Miu Miu, and Lana in an Alexander McQueen ensemble that resembled the tree of life, Molly’s talents in styling truly captured the viewers’ attention.

Katie Qian

As one of the most iconic looks of the night, Tyla’s Balmain Met Gala gown was made of real sand. Composed by Katie Qian, this look was the perfect metaphor for the theme, given that sand forms over long periods of erosion- a symbol that is quite literally used to track time and signify decay. What’s more, Katie also managed to honour the Sleeping Beauties theme with an exquisitely delicate, one-wear dress that also manages to embody Tyla’s brand. I mean, perfect is an understatement when it comes to this look.

Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn

Having dressed some of the most famous faces in the Hollywood industry, including Lily Collins, Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn demonstrated their flair for styling through the iconic Jennifer Lopez. Dressing her in a butterfly inspired dress designed by Schiaparelli, that used over 2,500,000 silver foil bugle beads, the pair flawlessly captured the essence of a sleeping beauty, as stated on Mariel’s Instagram “Something that goes to sleep and wakes up beautiful also lives in a garden without being a flower.”

Mimi Cuttrell

Most recently notable for dressing podcaster Alex Cooper on her wedding day, Mimi Cottrell beautifully styled Gigi Hadid, Ariana Grande and Madelyn Cline. Gigi stunned in a yellow-rose adorned white corset dress from Thom Browne, Madelyn awed in a reimagined Oxford shirt by Tommy Hilfiger, and Ariana Grande turned heads in a LOEWE leather and mother-of-pearl gown that mimicked the surface of an iridescent shell. Each carefully crafted look truly captured the essence of the theme, making the Gala a huge success for Mimi.
