Can You Buy The Viral Louis Vuitton Sandwich Bag Here in The UAE?

Drawing inspiration from lunch bags seems to be the latest in catwalk trends (Saint Laurent’s take-away bag immediately comes to mind), but one fashion house its putting its own unique twist on a common carry-all we’ve been toting around since grade school.

Louis Vuitton’s new menswear creative director, record producer and designer Pharrell Williams, recently put his own spin on it, sending what appeared to be a sandwich bag down the runway in his debut 2024 Spring-Summer collection last summer, carried by model Anna Ewers.

According to CNN, the piece went on sale on January 4 exclusively at Louis Vuitton’s West Hollywood pop-up store, retailing for $3,130.

The large clutch bag is made of cowhide leather in the same iconic colour of the fashion house’s paper shopping bags and is meant to be worn in a folded fashion to mirror a common paper bag. It features a blue fastening, as well as iconic Louis Vuitton lettering.

Naturally the sartorial set here in the region are wondering how they can snap up the collector’s item without booking a trip to Los Angeles…

There’s good news for UAE-based fashionistas and Louis Vuitton collectors as the Sandwich Clutch Bag is available to be shopped here in the region — but it will set you back a cool Dhs12,700.

Last year Louis Vuitton unveiled a pair of Trompe-l’œil “illusion high boots” in its Autumn-Winter 2023 collection.

The boots are constructed to appear like a leg wearing white ribbed socks and black pumps, both of which have been hand-painted onto the shoe — and quickly became a viral sensation.
