ADMAF Collaborates With Dolce&Gabbana To Announce a New Award for Emerging Emirati Designers

The winners of the award will have the chance to undertake a prestigious internship in Dolce&Gabbana’s headquarters

Dolce&Gabbana and the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) have announced that they are collaborating to inaugurate the ADMAF x Dolce&Gabbana Award for new Emirati designers. Established in 1996, ADMAF is one of the first cultural foundations to hail from the Arab region. Through various partnerships with both leading national and international organizations and brands, ADMAF is committed to nurturing creative talent and serving as their gateway to the rest of the world.

Both current and recently graduated university students from the UAE are eligible to apply. The award will cover clothing, jewellery, fragrance and even interior design, the latter being a category that Dolce&Gabbana themselves recently launched in 2021. Finalists will be granted the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Dolce&Gabbana headquarters in Italy, where they will get to develop their designs under the mentorship of the industry’s leading creatives. They will then be invited to present their work at the annual Abu Dhabi Festival.

The collaboration is the first of its kind in the Arab region. As Her Excellency Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation and Founder and Artistic Director of the Abu Dhabi Festival, says: “Together with Dolce&Gabbana, we witness another milestone in both our efforts to drive innovation and creation, advance progressive thinking, and empower the youth…This new award will provide our nation’s youth with the invaluable opportunity to learn about the craftmanship of couture and design, enhance their skills, realise their dreams and present their creative talent not only in Abu Dhabi but in the international arena.”

Attendees of this year’s Abu Dhabi Festival, which is currently taking place, can also view the magnificent display of Dolce&Gabbana’s Alta Gioielleria collection at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. In addition, the brand has erected a VIP lounge in the Palace, which has been outfitted with a lavish selection of homeware from the latest collection of the Dolce&Gabbana Casa line.
