Dubai Shoppers Can Now Own Anne Hathaway’s Viral Gap by Zac Posen Dress
The dress worn by the A-list actor in May sold out in just six hours after it landed in U.S. Gap stores
Anne Hathaway’s style evolution mirrors her Hollywood ascent, from The Princess Diaries to The Devil Wears Prada and beyond. Her red-carpet choices have continually set the bar, reflecting trends and setting new ones—from early 2000s dresses over jeans, to Barbiecore and oversized blazers.
Fresh from wrapping on Amazon Original’s hit movie The Idea of You in May, the actress attended a Bulgari high jewellery gala in a look that epitomised Italian sprezzatura; the art of looking glamorous seemingly without any effort at all. Whilst her Bulgari jewels were predictably dazzling, what stood out was her unexpected choice of attire: a custom Gap shirt dress designed by the retailer’s new creative director, Zac Posen. This ensemble, which took social media by storm, reimagined the classic white shirt, drawing inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s dress in the film Roman Holiday—a fitting nod to another Princess Anne.

Anne’s dress featured a button-up front with deep pockets, a sharp collar, and short sleeves, one of which was styled to fall off her shoulder. The front of the dress was partially undone, revealing a semi-sheer white corset (also by GAP) underneath.

For those eager to emulate this look, the dress is about to land at Gap stores in Dubai. Priced at 649 AED, the retail version retains all the original’s exquisite details—from the structured bodice to the sharp collar and nonchalant neckline.
With limited quantities available for pre-order, this dress, which sold out in under six hours during its pre-sale event in the U.S. in May, is sure to be a coveted item. Available in stores by mid-August in Dubai, it’s a must-own for every vacation-ready wardrobe.
