Arab Designers Dominate The SAG Awards Red Carpet
From Lebanese couturier Zuhair Murad to Saudi label Waad Aloqaili, Arab designers were part of the most iconic 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards’ fashion moments
The event took place at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Saturday in Los Angeles, and top Hollywood stars opted for beautifully crafted pieces by regional labels.
Floor-length dresses with slits and beading seemed to be a running theme in the pieces.
Hollywood actor Reese Witherspoon went with a bright red look, wearing a long gown with a draped bodice and dramatic thigh-high slit from Lebanese designer Elie Saab’s spring 2024 haute couture collection. She styled the dress with a pair of Gianvito Rossi strappy heeled sandals.

An extravagant black gown by Saudi designer label Waad Aloqaili was seen on American actor and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Founded in 2019 by sisters Waad and Ahlam Aloqaili, the brand produces bi-annual collections inspired by “personal experience and the collective female journey,” according to the label’s website. Their pieces have been previously seen on the red carpet during the Venice and Cannes Film Festivals, as well as Saudi Arabia’s acclaimed Joy Awards.
Canadian television personality, Keltie Knight strutted the red carpet in a trendy piece by Lebanese designer Saiid Kobeisy. The white dress featured a big black bow right on the neckline as well as tiny tulle bows sprinkled across the piece.
English actress Hannah Waddingham, known for her roles in Game of Thrones and Ted Lasso, showed up in her best old Hollywood style. She chose a shimmery deep red gown with a thigh-high slit and long train by Lebanese label Tony Ward.

American actress and comedian Abby Elliott, known for her roles in The Bear and Indebted, wore a sleek black dress from Lebanese label Zuhair Murad’s Spring-Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection.
