BAFTA Awards 2022: The Best Dressed A-Listers

Last night was the 75th annual British Academy Film Awards, and it’s safe to say that these movie stars understood the assignment…

A slew of sensational gowns lit up the red carpet in front of London’s historic Royal Albert Hall last night at the BAFTA Awards 2022.

This year’s nominees for Best Actress included Lady Gaga for her iconic role in House of Gucci and Tessa Thompson for her groundbreaking performance in Passing. Ariana DeBose was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, as well as the ever so elegant, Caitríona Balfe for her part in Belfast.

From Emma Watson to Naomi Campbell, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia has curated a list of the best dressed celebrities from the BAFTA Awards 2022.

Lady Gaga, Ralph Lauren

A fashion chameleon par excellence, Lady Gaga‘s Ralph Lauren gown, Tiffany & Co. jewels, and bleach blond locks exuded old-Hollywood glamour.

Caitríona Balfe, Armani Privé

The Outlander star graced the red carpet in an elegant, sophisticated Armani gown, which she accessorised with vintage drop earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Vuitton

Not only was it Millie’s BAFTA debut, but it was also her first time stepping out onto a red carpet with beau, Jake Bongiovi (who is Jon Bon Jovi’s son) since the pair made their relationship Instagram official last November. This darker look was a new one for the Stranger Things‘ star, who usually opts for a brighter colour palette.

Emma Watson, Oscar de la Renta

With her refined, classic look, Emma’s staying power is undeniable. Always the epitome of sophisticated elegance, she shows us time and again that she can pull off any look and any hairstyle.

Florence Pugh, Carolina Herrera

Florence Pugh’s red carpet fashion is blossoming before our very eyes, and this bold Carolina Herrera look is another watershed moment in her style evolution.

Ariana DeBose, Oscar de La Renta

Ariana glowed in a show-stopping bright yellow gown. The actress proudly took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in West Side Story.

Naomi Campbell, Burberry

The embodiment of fierce feminine strength, Naomi never ceases to dominate the red carpet with her unparalleled timeless style, and this black Burberry moment was no exception.

Salma Hayek, Gucci

Salma looked regal in a Gucci purple velvet gown with black lace detailing and puffed shoulders. Her slicked back updo complemented the glamorous body-con dress.

Simone Ashley, Valentino

Simone, who is about to make her acting debut in the highly anticipated second season of Bridgerton (airing at the end of March), looked ravishing in Pierpaolo Piccioli’s vibrant new AW22 colour, which created shock waves at Paris Fashion Week a few weeks ago.
