#StyledByCed: Cedric Haddad On Statement Sweaters And The Story Behind Tara Emad’s Sequin Ensemble
Stylist to the stars Cedric Haddad shines a spotlight on the top red carpet looks, hot trends and fashion moments of the month
Anatomy Of A Look
Honestly, everything looks stunning on Tara Emad. Her timeless beauty, dancer’s silhouette and overall positivity make it magical to style her. For her grand entrance at the latest Red Sea International Film Festival, I wanted her to sparkle like the star she is. So I dressed her in a glistening golden Elie Saab sequin-covered jumpsuit. When she slipped this look on I knew she loved it because a smile lit up her face the moment she saw it. Glamorous and yet also unfussy – just like Tara – the jumpsuit was both a statement look but also an easy one, especially considering it needed no alterations. To finish the outfit I added a Panthère de Cartier necklace so that Tara, who is an ambassador for the house, would have all eyes on her in Jeddah.

Sweater Weather
With the post-holiday sales in full swing, my winter fashion tip is to invest in cashmere. It’s the ultimate winter base layer and comes in a multitude of thicknesses, weaves and patterns. Think of a cashmere knit as the ultimate long-term purchase and be ready to spend more to tap into the highest quality you can get your hands on. Then start building your cashmere wardrobe by purchasing staple neutral colours – black, cream, navy, and beige. You’ll be surprised just how often you return to them over the coming months, years, and even decades.

It’s A Wrap
Even in this region, owning a big statement scarf is a must. They have arguably usurped the statement coat as this season’s must-have accessory. During the cold winter months, scarves are a new way to show designer love and have become a street-style favourite for celebrities and influencers alike, especially during the fashion-week season. A big scarf is always a great way to stand out while staying warm, even if the only cold you’re battling is coming from some aggressive AC.
